Throughout our 33 years preparing homes for the real estate market, none was more challenging, exciting and rewarding than the transformation of 32 Weston Road, Weston Ct.

 

A gracious home built in the 1700’s and lovingly restored expanded and enjoyed by the current owners since the early 1990’s.

 

Artsy and whimsical, this was totally an “owner specific” home.

 

Set on magnificent Crystal Lake with rolling lawn, exotic plantings a pool, pool house and barn, this house had it all…. only all too much!!!!

 

Every inch of the interior was covered in wallpaper, deep jewel tone paint colors, collections on top of collections, antiques, feathers, beads and more.

 

For five years this gem sat on the market. The seasoned professional agents Cindy Saul and Barbara Vinograd, worked tirelessly with the owners giving feedback from showings to prospective buyers. Yet this gem remained on the market year after year.

 

Finally, in July 2019 Cindy and Barbara called me in to meet with the owners. They listened, they were skeptical but they took a leap of faith and agreed it was time to take more drastic measures to appeal to today’s buyers. They put their trust in Show to Sell and did not look back.

 

The Process

 

We arranged for Watercress springs Estate Sale Company to handle the sale of the furniture, collections and entire contents of this home. Fortunately the owners had already purchased a new home in Florida, so they were off, and so we’re we.

 

With the entire house now empty, our team of contractors, painters, electrician, plumber, worked over six months bringing this property to life for the 2020 buyer.

 

Show To Sell’s Owner/designer worked on colors, lighting, floor stain, and most significantly the master bath.

 

Selections of tiles, vanity, fixtures, tub, stone and the all-important sky light (this was an interior master bath with no natural light).

 

Each room including the barn, pool house, library, master bedroom, playroom office, living room, family room, kitchen and each of the six full and two half bathrooms and five family bedrooms needed to be carefully designed, decorated and staged.
